While I have never personally seen kids' activities and such at weddings, usually because they're on the dance floor the whole time or otherwise entertaining themselves, we'd like the parents to be able to relax and enjoy themselves as well. I'm torn on the idea because it's something I've never seen before, nor has anyone else we know, and I tend to feel that it comes across that "kids are invited but they can't be part of everything else that the adults and older kids are allowed to partake of". If you did have childcare services, was it a couple teens or college kids who were hired to watch over them or did you go through a company of some kind? If so, what did the kids have available to them? Are they able to leave to go dance with the adults if they wish or are they quarantined to the area? I'm not comfortable with the idea of kids being at a completely different venue. Most parents I know wouldn't like that either. The folks we know with kids are mostly from out of the area. The ones in town use their family as sitters. Coffee Junky, I agree. That is how every wedding I have been to with kids has been. Kids in the same room with the adults the entire time, dancing with the adults or whatever their hearts desire, without the need for specialized kids' activities or videos or whatever. There's never been a problem with that that I have seen. However, I have been told that you need to have specialized childcare in a different room for the kids and that they basically have no need to be anywhere near the adults/big kids' party the minute that dinner is over. If kids aren't allowed to join in with that, then it doesn't really make sense to invite them. But I can't imagine having a wedding without kids in attendance since they are family too. moreOpen Question: Is Virgin Mobile a reputable company?

i don't see how this is allowed, all of this false advertising. The shipping & handling scam is one of the prevalent scams within the infomercial industry. If you consider how much it actually costs to ship a product, these companies make a bundle by marking up the S&H costs. And, in a lot of cases, the shipping times are ridiculously slow considering how much is actually being paid to ship it. Most of the companies that have such horrible S&H fees and services do so in order to lessen the financial loss when a refund is initiated. Most products that you see on TV infomercials have a “30-day Money Back Guarantee.” It’s crucial to note that the “money-back guarantee” essentially means that you can get a full-refund of the product cost (less shipping) if you return the product within 30 days (usually of receiving it, but sometimes the “trial” begins when shipped). That means that whatever you paid for S&H will not be refunded, and furthermore, you’re liable for the expense of shipping your product back. So in some cases, you’ll be out twice the cost of shipping! DESPITE THAT WHAT ABOUT THE FAULTY PRODUCTS.? moreOpen Question: What phone services in the USA offer discounts to FedEx employees?

What is the deal with Windows Live Essentials is MS going to give it out has a premium version that is going cost more? Snip In Windows 7, many previously bundled apps will be separate, as part of the Windows Live brand and Microsoft is positioning Windows Live as a key part of its Windows experience. Ars reports from PDC where Microsoft outlined what looks to be a compelling Windows Live strategy. One of the things we've known about Windows 7 for a few weeks is that it would contain fewer bundled applications than Vista did. Instead, these apps would be provided separately, under the Windows Live branding. This has been done with several aims. One, Microsoft wants to end the confusion that occurs with Vista and XP, where someone may have Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger installed simultaneously. Two, the company wants to be able to release and update these programs without having to tie their timelines to those of the base platform. As such, there are now three parts to the platform. There's the Windows 7 Core OS, the Windows Live applications (bundled together as "Windows Live Essentials"), and the Windows Live Services (Hotmail, Spaces, etc.). Vendors will be able to preinstall Windows Live Essentials to create a complete user experience. The specific apps in Windows Live Essentials are: Windows Live Family Safety Windows Live Mail Windows Live Messenger Windows Live Movie Maker Windows Live Photo Gallery Windows Live Toolbar Windows Live Writer Microsoft Office Outlook Connector Versions of most of these are already shipping, and at PDC Microsoft demonstrated some features of new versions that are currently in beta. The company also described its broader vision for the Windows Live software, giving an indication of how it will evolve in the future and underscoring its importance for Windows as a whole. The software giant has noticed that people are using online services for a lot of different tasks. At the moment a lot of these online services create individual silos of data; for example, I may have photos in flickr or Picasa, and I have mail in Hotmail and Gmail. In recognition of that, the Windows Live Essentials will work with these third-party services just as well as they work with Microsoft's own. The intent is that, for users of the Windows Live software, the walls between the silos will be broken down. Moreover, with Windows Live IDs being usable as OpenIDs, it will be possible to tie all these silos to a single common user identity. Many of these apps are already in beta as part of Windows Live Wave 3. moreOpen Question: Need a catchy name for a local company that offers support around parenting issues?

Deflation is horrible for an economy. That is what causes countries to collapse. A small amount of inflation is good for the economy and helps the country to thrive. This is why the US has maintained a slow rate of inflation since... the beginning of the US pretty much except for during the really terrible times like the Great Depression. During the Great Depression there was a huge amount of deflation, with product being worth very little since no one had money to purchase it. Raising the minimum wage puts money into the hands of those who will spend it. A person who makes minimum wage does not give the money to the banks to invest, but rather uses the money to purchase physical goods, such as food, cars, electronics and clothing. The companies that make physical products therefore require more labor to create such products, and hire more people. Inflation does result from raising the minimum wage. People currently sitting on money, be it under their bed, in savings, or invested end up with less money. This leads to a redistrubution of wealth, with the rich (especially those just sitting on the money) having less value per dollar, and the poorest people (those currently below the new minimum wage limit) making more dollars. It seems to me the best idea would be to have a steady but slow increase in the minimum wage overtime, to encourage people to use money, since it will devalue over time. It also increases the amount of money people at the bottom income levels have. I do not understand how people can be against raising the minimum wage. I have even heard people say that those who make minimum wage are not valuable workers. I want to punch those people that say such a thing. At least give them a good shaking. Let's see who makes minimum wage or close to it... cashiers, fast food restaurant employees, janitors, low level accountants, factory workers (where most of the products actually do come from!), house cleaners, lawn workers, stockers for stores, bus boys, waitresses, and farm hands. So, those of you who don't value what minimum wage workers do, you don't need any of these things right? You don't need anything at all apparently, and made the monitor for the computer you are using right now from sand and sticks in your own yard? Because I guarantee some of the people that made the components for your computer you are using right now, made minimum wage. I would like to salute the minimum wage workers this 4rth of July. They work very hard, and they make the products and perform the services that we Americans so often take for granted. The raise you will be getting is long past due, and it is about time they put money back into the hands of our under-appreciated hard working Americans. Lets go ahead pay all of our workers enough to make it worth going to work and working hard every morning. Lets make it so that once again working 40 hours a week is enough to support a small family in modest comfort. Let's make sure that everyone who works 35+ hours a week has healthcare, not just those people able to get the handful of jobs from employers that decide they have no choice but to give you enough hours to qualify for it. moreOpen Question: How can I grow our Global Phone Services Business ?

Saturday, July 4, 2009 SARAH PALIN - FACING POSSIBLE FEDERAL INDICTMENT - OVER CONSTRUCTION OF HER HOME ON LAKE LUCILLE IN 2002! It seems like there are credible rumours in the blog sphere [Max Blumenthal at The Daily Beast] that our "whiner" [Sarah Palin] in America's Last Frontier (ALASKA) might be facing a possible FEDERAL INDICTMENT. Now due to my new reporting authority who's a old male with somewhere around 25 yrs of experience and who was a big womeniser treating females like anything, I found very unconforatble talking to him, reporting to him and working with him... which I further shared with my owner as well..however there was no action at all and owner suggested me to act wisely yourself w/t taking any action... in order to stop that old male I started ignoring him, by not doing jobs given to me by him and not litening to him, still with great respect and honor....to oldy...but when it became absoultuely unbearable and unacceptable I decide to leave for which i submitted my resgination letter telling my owner that i would not be able o give any notice period due to unavoidable circumstances... they have not reacted to it.. didn;t meet me to find out the reasn and totally went out of touch as if I've never worked there.. due to this behaviour I decided to proceed with my nxt organisation since being a human being and a family person i also have to look at my career and future...finally after requesteing gain and again to them to take handover management caled me up and the director of the institute started harrassing me which was embaraassing and challanging my self integrity... so finally I gave them back their laptop and all tools issued to me but they made it so arrogant and have not given me the recipt..and simply denied by saying that hand it over properly or else we will not...so the circumstances became very bad and argumentive... i just left everything there and came back joined new organisation telling them the truth whatever happened there.. now the actions that they have taken and the old man threatened me saying that i will not leave you so simply like this .....you will have to pay for this..which i did not take seriously.. but the steps they have taken now is a chalenge to all females and employees working in such lala company that can they do anything they want and exploit employees the way they want to. 1. they have not given me my salry of 20 days... 2. they have been deducting Rs. 500 for past 1 and a half yrs from my salary aganst security money. 3. they have not guven me my form 16 for the tax paid to govt. 4. they have called my existing director stating that I have left the organisation and you must also take her out.. 5. now they have published it in newspaper with my photograph stating that i have done dhoka dhadi and warning all corporates and institutes about the same.. Smith and the one I got was the advertised replacement. Old motor was V2054, new motor is VB2054. Well, the new motor is doing the same thing, if only on an intermittent basis! I've been at this for weeks with no positive results. Eliminated possible circuit board and relay problems at furnace and thermostat by wiring and running motor from several other different outlets with the same problem. The motor, once running will run just fine, seemingly forever without any signs of overheating; it's the restart that's causing the problem. 90% of the time it will need a light tap and it will kick in, albeit with a good spark; also I discovered that when I need to do that I did not hear the click when it shut off and when it wants to restart but can't without the tapping the plug at the power cord feels quite hot at the plug and the motor without a load i.e. belt will restart just fine. When I put my identical old motor in 9 years ago, it did just fine, worked immediately, I'm using a replaced but identical belt and the squirrel cage is clean and moves easily. I can't really read any amps or voltage fast enough as I'm busy tapping the motor and once started amps and voltage are reasonably within limits. I even had the electric company lay an upgraded line today and move me to a feeder closer to the house! I live in the boonies and reasonable service is hard to come by here. Could I by coincidence have purchased a bad motor? Again, it has the same problem even when plugged into another outlet; at restart it's a hum, then a click and then nothing without a tap and when plugged in through the furnace the motor seems to pick up heat until restarted; I guess that's because it keeps getting a signal from the thermostat to start but can't on its own. Sorry to be so long winded but I wanted to get as much detail in here as possible. Regarding comments by "Lawrence", even when I use a cord other than the one running through furnace to run the motor through a different outlet it gets hot after repeated attempts by the motor to start. Regarding comments by "Md. R", replaced belt with same brand/size and even backed up an already acceptable belt tension, the alignment is proper as I can see it, squirrel cage pulley moves smoothly and has been lubricated, the motor is split phase without a capacitor mounted on top. Regarding comments by "Rouse", when I do hear the click ever so faint at shutdown it will restart, without it no; but why does the problem not occur when the belt is removed? Also one thing I failed to mention is that at times, although very rarely I do hear a quite (healthy?) audible rasping, sliding ratcheting sound when the motor does shut off; I think this occurred when I had the motor running from another outlet. moreOpen Question: Please help with HomeAgain Pet Chip " REMOVAL "?
I recently learned that someone or somehow, three a my dogs information has not been documented or provided to this company. I have spoke with several people that answer the phones and three supervisors numerous times. I provided the chip numbers and HomeAgain verified the veterinarians name and location.. I stated that I was absolutely sick, given the fact that for more than two years I believed my dogs had a safety net. Even though I paid for the services my dogs were potentially vulnerable. At no time did any of the phone operators or supervisors offer to take the information contingent upon some arrangements that could be made. Finally, I stated, how is this for of thought, " Someone might consider taking the information and the fact that no one ever offered might be a clue that they didn't give a rip about my pets." I felt as if they had received their money so the interest JUST was not there. Oh, but don't worry the supervisor will call you back on another day ,again, she's busy............ later I learned she was gone. and other sources of noise. Does anybody know is a difficult to remove their chip so I can have a chip from a different company placed in my dogs. I do not trust or believe anything this company says. I wouldn't accept services for free or anything else affiliated with this company. They truly demonstrated their compassion for pets. After reading numerous complaints about HomeAgain I wish I had done my homework before. I moreOpen Question: Different levels of the U.S. Armed Services?

Is there a way I can unlock an HTC Dream from Rogers in Canada? I know that in the USA, T-Mobile has to give you the unlock code after 90 days of service, but i'm not sure if this is the same in Canada. Also, could I just put in a Fido sim card, since they are the same company? Or is there a way I can just unlock it? (A G1 unlocked would work too) I want to be able to use it with Fido. moreOpen Question: Hair Extensions Help!?
I have had my faire share of hair extensions and have recently been looking for a new company to buy from. My previous purchase have been from www.boutiquehairextensions.com.au which is based out of Australia and every time I have ordered they end up taking a month + just to get to me. Usually it's because they are out of the color or they get stuck at customs but the quality of the hair is great I just hate the customer service and difficulty of receiving them. So I ask of you, what hair extensions do you like and find to be the best quality that also comes along with great delivery time! I'm currently looking at Head Kandy so if you have any experience with them let me know, along with any other brands you all like. Thank you in advance. moreOpen Question: metal bending companies?

Ok, I am going to ask this question again for a third time. People have always answered it with a "common knowledge" answer. This is for my debate class in collage and I am having problems with research. Please provide answers with links. I have to be able to fight both pro and con, I have been given an extention on the project since I got my @$$ handed to me the first time when I went in with "Common knowledge" attack. The subject altered his Military DD214's to changing the lenght of service. He did so to get a job with a company based out of a foreign country. What laws did he break if any. First decent answer I got was the "valor act" or something like that signed in effect 2005, but that act is specifically for Medals and such, nothing about lenght. Next was the common knowledge that was shoot down way to fast. If you are going to answer please provide a link so I can go in with some firepower, and Both sides are greatly appreciated. moreOpen Question: Is it normal to be asked to use 'in house' services(solicitors/mortgage arrangments) to buy a repossessed home?
Hi All! I have put in an offer and had it accepted, just under the asking price on a house which sadly is a repossession. It is not in a great state-appliances having been ripped out etc, scuff marks but nothing that can't be fixed and the house is just the thing to at last get me on the ladder.. The seller/management company have reduced the price on the property once already-they have yet had no other offers on it. The estate agent i am dealing with wants to keeps things 'in house', by using their services for conveyancing and mortgages.I am a single woman who is a first time buyer and i had a good deal with my bank on a mortgage but the agent has alluded to the fact that i may stand a better chance of avoiding more offers on the property if i use their mortgage service. The mortgage deal the estate agent offered isn't bad(more expensive though) but i wondered if this is normal practice? I have said i would not use in house solicitors which was seen as ok but they did recommend a local solicitor. I am not well off, and although i know this is a risk i am still willing to walk away if higher offers (ie, over asking price), come in at the last minute. i know the bank/management company want the money so need to sell and ensure that the sale will go through in 28days, but does anything here sound odd? Just wondered! moreOpen Question: A Hosting Company That Allows FileHosting Sites?

The technician arrived at 4:53 and left at 5:25 to replace the pump on my washing machine. I was charged $142 for labor and $75 for the part. What ticks me off is that my appointment was supposed to be from 8 am to noon and he arrived almost 5 hours past his latest scheduled arrival time. Is $142 for 32 minutes of work (less than that really since he had to leave the house to get the new part) a fair and realistic amount? This is a UK question. I have never been able to work out what the railways are for! If I get a train from Oxford to London it costs me £24.00 and the tax payer subsidises my journey by about another £15.00 If I get a coach, it costs me £13 and I pay the taxpayer (via the company) road tax, fuel tax and corporation tax. Taxpayers pay road tax of £40 billion pa - £6 billion is spent on roads. Taxpayers pay fuel tax of about £30 billion pa - virtually none is spent on road transport. The tax payer pays subsidies to the railways of about £4.5 billion pa. (it actually makes buying a Bank or two look quite cheap!) And best of all - most regular rail user are in the upper quartile of the population. Less well off people can't afford pay the high fares. So they use buses or coaches and subsidise the wealthier train users! We are very lucky that socialism hadn't been invented when the canals went out of business or we would be paying a small fortune to support another "vital" public service white elephant! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/higher-fares-will-be-the-price-of-railway-expansion-458617.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2002/jan/18/publicservices.thinktanks EDIT: Most freight will never be sent by rail. For the same reason it will never again be sent by canal. Too expensive and too slow. Every piece needs triple handling. Lorry/train/lorry. It will never happen. Crowded roads - Roads are crowded because we don't have enough of them. An extra 4.5 billion diverted from rail subsidies would soon fix that, not to mention the extra tax take from more cars. Enivro issues - A lot of trains run 70% empty spewing diesel fumes. Railway Engines have a design life of over 30 years so we are stuck with current technology for a long time. Cars have a much shorter life and are improving emmision perfomance dramatically. Zero is a reasonable expectation in the next 10 years or so. All the "nice to have them" arguments - I will not dignify with an answer. EDIT: Badwolf - a reasoned response, but full of errors. There are no advance cheap rates on my line. Season tickets are usually only subsidised by employers with a low cost loan. However employees who benefit are seldom poor. The majority of rail miles are commuter traffic - not a lot of poor people there either. The passenger pays for the cost of the franchise in his fare. The taxpayer picks up a bill for 4.5 billion. That's 5 new NHS hospitals - every year! moreResolved Question: What the best way to tell an non-profit company that you are not interested in doing business with them?
I'm 17 years old and do website startup services. I normally am hired out by contract, but recently, I was approached by a non-profit crime watch who wanted to pay me to make a website for them. However, when I met with them for the initiation, they said that they couldn't pay me and that they still wanted me to do work for them. I told them that I would be willing to work with them, once they got some funding, got an idea for marketing and and expanded their membership. (As of now, the crime watch is a 3 person group who ride out in a pickup truck every Tuesday night, reporting suspicious things to police) Since then, I've spent the past week dodging their relentless phone calls, all leaving me messages of "We have no money, but please do this work for us." I'm used to doing work for local politicians, large churches and other prime-time work, all who are willing to pay me big-time and contract me out. This organization wants me to run and maintain a website for them, without pay. Because these 3 people have contacts who are a lot of my potential clients, what is the better way of telling them I'm simply not interested in their business, without ruining my reputation? I fear that if I just tell them to give me some sort of compensation and meet my normal demands, they could turn around and ruin a lot of future business for me. Any suggestions to fix this dilemma? moreOpen Question: Which is it...Government Health Insurance plan will be poorly run by incompetent beaurocrats or it will...?
Which is it...Government Health Insurance plan will be poorly run by incompetent beaurocrats or it will be operated so well that Private Insurance companies will be put out of business? Conservatives claim that Private industry kicks Government run programs butt...they claim the Government cannot give the same kind of service that private sector gives us...yet they are scared to death of a Government run health insurance plan. Why is the Great American Insurance Industry afraid of a poorly run Government plan??? Can't the Private Insurance Industry compete against crap??? Or do they realize they are the ones that have been giving the American people crap and that the Government plan will be better, will serve the American people better and will put them out of business? Which is it...either Gov. plan will be crap or it will be superior to private insurance? "Imagine if government would open up Gov't Meats right next to Outback Steakhouse and sell fillet Mignon for a dollar." So Matt...you think the Gov. can do it as well or better than private? From the way conservatives talk, the goverment employee who is selling you the $1.00 filet mignon is covered in filth, picking his nose and his butt, smells like a sewer lagoon, all of which would make him incompetent to sell meat...but your saying people would STILL buy from the inferior seller???? Hey guys, I have a G900 Sony Ericsson cellphone and I'm having some problems. My cell can't pick up a signal in some places like half the places in my school, I can have a call for about 30 seconds - 1 minute (standing in the same place) until the call drops, or it loses connection easily. I am using Fido with the phone and I thought that might be it (I was always using Bell before on my old phone) but my friend who sat next to me when i didn't have connection, his phone was fine (hes also using Fido) he said it was the phone not the service company. So has anyone heard of this happening with this type of phone? I couldn't really find anything, so if u know anything or have any suggestions that would be great, especially if you know if fido has wonky service or if it is actually the phone. moreOpen Question: Christians: Does noticing a Merchant’s inadvertent incorporation of “666” within their Phone # discourage you?

why is Nintendo being so greedy? Am I alone in my rage? Here is a copy of my email to Nintendo and their response about the Wii Fit plus being sold as a game and not a free upgrade to exsisting Wii Fit owners! Raging Wii Fitters unite! Please tell me that the reports I'm reading out of e3 are wrong regarding the wii fit plus. I have read that present owners of the wii fit are going to have to purchase the new wii fit plus. Is the correct? If so what a slap in the face to the consumers that you have ridden to surge ahead of your competitors. I personally have raved to all my firends what a great product the wii is and the wii fit has I my strengthened my belief. With the wii fit you deffinately get what you put into it. While it is good I was looking forward to an upgrade in regards to more exercises and setting up work outs. My feeling is that nintendo has an obligation to it's loyal customers to provide great customer service just as we have supported you in this horrible economic climate. The wii fit plus is not a new game but an upgrade of the exsisting game and thus should be treated as such. Computer companies provide service updates to their software as should nintendo. Learn a bit from Apple in this area as well as customer service and how to maintain brand loyalty. While the quality of the product has much to do with it the customer service and support are as equally as important! We put up with the subpar graphics for the fun that the nintendo brand stands for. My feeling is that if the report is true I will rage against nintendo as much as I was a cheerleader I will be an advocate against; you already shook me down for a game. Bundling the controller with the wii play; that was a ripoff but I swallowed it. I will not swallow this! Do right by those that have been and are doing right by you. Make the wii fit plus a upgrade available on wii ware to previous wii fit owners it fair and it shows gratitude for brand loyalty. I know I have given nintendo the best kind advertising by word of mouth and know of at least 5 purchases directly contributed to me and my praise of the wii. I do not wish to be let down by nintendo, please do the right thing! Nintendo advocate? Rich Hello, Announced at this year’s E3, Wii Fit Plus is a sequel to the run-away hit, Wii Fit in the same way the upcoming Wii Sports Resort is a sequel to Wii Sports. Despite what you have heard, it’s a stand alone product that will be available both with a Wii Balance Board included and in a game-only format for those that already have Wii Fit. The game itself will combine the original Wii Fit activities and selections from 15 new balance games and six new strength training and yoga activities. Users can now input the amount of time they want to spend on their workouts or select an area for personal improvement, and Wii Fit Plus will suggest a number of diverse activities for them. For the first time, users can mix and match which strength and yoga activities they prefer on a given day. The seamless exercise routines make it easier than ever for users to maintain their daily workout. I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us regarding your concerns.
